I love this approach. My daughter is 12 and is a relatively selective eater, but definitely open to trying more new things as she gets older. Your son's comment reminded me of what she sometimes tells me about things i cook: "it's mid" 😂 as long as she eats it, that's fine! She's also a big avocado fan so I will definitely try this salad!

Hahaha MID that is such a teen term. I hope this recipe is more than MID? Hahah. Toss it through m noodles, it works really well!

I think you had great success with your son! Kudos. The research says can take upward of 15 times to have new food introduction success. That said my husband is 79 and a very picky eater. I just made him blueberry cobbler and he said he would like it better if the blueberries were pureed. Ouch, he has lots of texture issues. Still I get him to try everything and he often says....the flavor is fine, but the texture is not. If your children are 12 or under I would love to send them my children's vegetable cookbook full of fun facts. Your food dishes always look delicious.

oh no, I bet your blueberry cobbler was perfect the way it is! Textural dislikes are a real thing, my middle son struggles with a lot of textures. Oh well, we will try and try again. My kids are all older than 12 now, but thank you so much for your offer! Perhaps share the name of your book and where to buy it here in comments as others may be interested in it for their young ones! Thanks Heide.

THAT'S VERY KIND OF YOU! It's called 4 Ways to Yummy Children's Vegetable cookbook and is found on Amazon and Etsy. One hundred reviews and endorsed by a lot of health minded folks like Ocean Robbins, Rebecca Katz, Archana Mundhe, Ronnie Fein, Liz Lipski, Dr. Nandi, Dr. Gator and more. Jere Gettle of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds says it's the best children's cookbook he's ever seen. He carries it in his CA and MO stores. Katie Kimball said it made her top ten children’s cookbook list for 2023. I say that everyone will learn something new. Great for families!
